The Penile and Seminal Microbiome: 2024 EDITION

Increased awareness of multiple microbiome sites in the body has the potential to revolutionise individual healthcare.

Have you given much thought to the microbial inhabitants of the penis and seminal fluid?

Did you know that these microbes can influence a variety of health outcomes for the host, their sexual partners and potential offspring?

Clinicians often only consider the microbes of the penis and the semen when they relate to vaginal infections.

We need to start thinking about these microbes not only in relation to others but also how they may impact the health of the individual.

In genitourinary health there are a number of microbial eco-niches which have been the focus of exponential knowledge growth. The knowledge base around the seminal and penile microbiomes is still in its infancy. Despite this, what we do know suggests that the microbial inhabitants have the potential to impact the health of the individual, their partners and even potential offspring.

In this webinar Moira Bradfield Strydom from Intimate Ecology will explore the penile and seminal microbiome and their relevance in holistic clinical health. Delving into new information and microbial profiles that impact many of the parameters of genitourinary health and disease.

The focus on this microbiome exploration will be host health, infection tendencies and disorder in addition to the impacts of seminal and penile health in sexual partnerships, conception and offspring.

The webinar will have a practical focus to improve and support outcomes in clinical practice.
